Checked out the new exhibition at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Passage to the Future – Art from a New Generation in Japan. It features contemporary art from a selection of eleven younger Japanese artists.
Just completed a new painting of the Goodyear factory in Wolverhampton.

When I went down to London to enter my painting for the BP Portrait Award I took the opportunity to go and see the From Russia exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts. There had been a lot of publicity about the exhibition as it nearly didn’t happen due to fears that the original owners of the artworks might try to seize them back. Luckily thanks to last minute diplomatic intervention and new laws rushed through, the exhibition got the go ahead. I’m glad it did too as there were some great paintings on show, most of which had never been shown in Britain before. (more…)
